Intro Beginner Student Classes
(Classes
will be on Thursday evenings: 6:00-6:50 p.m. class is for
ages 5-8; 7:00-7:50 p.m. class is for ages 9-13. See
calendar for dates.)
What do I get for my hard earned money?
1
month of lessons for $50 per month, no Contract. However I
will NOT accept partial payments. Payments will be for one
month at a time. It is the responsibility of the
parent/child to get to class. If you miss class there is no
make-up class; you just missed that class.
Check the schedule as posted on the website before coming
to class.
Due
to my hectic schedule as a Middle Level teacher and
wrestling coach, the day of the week may change. Again,
check the schedule ahead of time via the website, before
coming to class.
Private
Intro Lessons: $60 for 3 one hour lessons.
If an adult / student want to come into my program during
the school year, I will give you three introductory private
lessons for $60 total. That way, I get to know you and you
get to know me.
1
Uniform:
Students perform better, and feel like they are part of a
Karate class, if dressed for the part. Uniforms are black
(help’s mom keep down dirt) – Price: $35.
1
year of Liability Insurance:
One time fee of $30 when you start.
Traditionally I begin a new Beginner’s Class the week after
Labor Day and run it through December. At that time my new
student’s are ready to “Graduate” up to their first belt:
Yellow Belt. There is a
“graduation fee” (some schools call it a testing fee) of
$15.
This fee covers their new belt and their new certificate.
Graduation fees are to be paid up front before students
receive their new belt and certification.
Then
what?
On the traditional yearly schedule, they can continue on
through April and work toward their second belt, if they so
desire. If you need to drop-out for a month or two, and
come back, the way that I work with you, there is no
problem with that. I just won’t take partial monthly
payments.
I
operate on a trimester schedule: September - December;
January - April; and May – August. If the student comes to
class, AND practices at home, they may be ready to graduate
to their next belt/level at the end of the four month
period.
Are
there any other “hidden fees?” NO!
So far this is what we have:
Liability
Insurance: $30
Uniform: $35
First month Lessons: $50
Total: $115 to start class on September
4th,
2008.
If
the student continues with their study of martial arts,
they will eventually need their own Sparring Gear. They
will not need this until achieving their Orange Belt (at
the end of the introductory 4-month tri-mester). Cost:
approximately $100 dollars.
Can I drop out and come back? Yes.
Can my child get hurt doing this?
Yes. This is NOT some video game. I expect my students to
pay attention and do exactly what I tell them to do. If
they don’t do this, they will be putting other students at
risk, and your child’s poor behavior will NOT be tolerated.
Find another school! On the flip side, I am very
experienced at what I am doing, and I will take all
reasonable measure to take very good care of them. They
will not spar with a partner until they achieve their
second belt, which in our system would be their Orange
belt.
